  • $6 million local investment in Promise Neighborhoods targeting low-income and minority families; led coalition to secure $29 million in funding from the Federal Promise Neighborhood Initiative

  • $650k investment for Propser Portland Inclusive Startup Fund for women, minority, and veteran entrepreneurs

  • $500k investment to expand housing units for people experiencing mental health crisis and suffering from addiction

  • Provided county funding for construction of Cully Park; partnered with Nike to renovate the football fields at two SUN School Program high schools 

  • Provided funding for 2,000+ summer jobs for vulnerable youth

  • Expanded Senior Hunger Initiative to provide meals for seniors five days a week; Increased funding for Oregon Project Independence - keeping seniors in their homes

  • Worked to define pedestrian fatalities as a public health crisis, increased funding for youth and family alcohol prevention services, and permanently funded the Voter Education and Outreach Program for underserved communities.

  • Champion increased supportive services linked to affordable housing to address the ongoing homelessness epidemic

  • Champion investments in transportation and public infrastructure that both reduces congestion and improves our fight against climate change

  • Work with Trimet and other regional partners to make our public transit system fareless for low-income residents by 2023

  • Ensure that public safety workers have the tools, financial resources, and training/education to support their ability to adequately serve all members of our community

  • Utilize city cannabis tax dollars to develop startup fund for women, minorities, and veteran entrepreneurs seeking to enter the cannabis industry

  • Collaborate with Multnomah County and the Oregon Health Authority to define pedestrian fatalities as a public health crisis - development of additional innovative policies and programs to improve upon Vision Zero
